What do you want to remember your high school experience by? Most of the athletes can remember their time on the field or the bonds they made while eating dinners after games with their teammates. The scholars can remember their strenuous calculus and AP Literature courses that kept them up until dawn. The students who are ready to explore new professions can remember their time participating in Career & Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs), learning in Career and Technical Education courses, or traveling to West Mec for carpentry or engineering courses.

No matter your career choice, it is important that you remember your high school experience as one that brought not only joy but also professional growth. With the numerous extracurricular and academic opportunities at Estrella Foothills High School, you can certainly find a community within the school and discover your passions. Having reached the halfway point of another school year, let’s dive into some possibilities available to you.

Join a club on campus

There are countless clubs to join on campus, and EFHS is home to some renowned CTSOs. If you hope to pursue med school, consider joining Future Health Professionals, HOSA, to learn the essential medical concepts. If you’re looking for some travel with like-minded business professionals, join the largest club on campus, Future Business Leaders of America, and get ready to compete at the State Leadership Conference in Tuscon. Or, perhaps, if you wish to become a teacher, the EdRising club is eager to welcome you!

There are also some miscellaneous clubs on campus that are looking for growth in membership. Consider joining Rodeo & Agriculture club and you may just discover that you have a new passion for the industry. You may also want to join the Wolfpack Post; we're always looking for talented writers!

Don’t feel limited by the examples of clubs found above. You can find the full list of clubs offered at EFHS here: https://buhsdefhs.ss12.sharpschool.com/clubs_organizations

Try out for a sports team

If you are looking for a way to get out of the house and find a community of athletes, consider going out for a sports team! While you are a bit too late to join any of the fall or winter sports, you can perfect your skills in the sports offered earlier in the year so you are ready for the 2023-2024 season. If you are looking for a sport to join right now, look into the spring sports that are offered at EFHS. The majority of spring sports are hosting tryouts next week, so begin talking to coaches to see if a sports team would be a good fit for you.

However, it is not necessary to join a sport to take part in the fun. Consider going to more sporting games and rooting on your classmates as they take on many of our rivals. You can still build a sense of community on the sidelines, and you won’t have to endure the early morning practices or the long workouts.

While you’re at EFHS, it is essential that you make the most out of your time. With Covid hampering many of our abilities to enjoy our full four years of high school, it is imperative to make the most of what time you have left. Enjoying your high school experience begins with actively involving yourself in the rich, diverse student body by joining extracurriculars or athletic teams.
